  1. Despite all claims to the contrary the same old grand narratives  of power, politics and economics determine the daily lives of the vast majority of the earth’s population.
  2. A better world remains not only possible, but more necessary than ever.
  3. As Art is the creative engagement of the artist with world around them, the artist has a responsibilty to be conscious of the nature and purpose of that engagement.
  4. Art is not merely decorative but also serves as an expression of the artist’s perspective in this engagement with the world.
  5. Art, therefore, must be tangible.
  6. Social Expressionism is the combination of the artist’s freedom of expression with a deliberate effort to engage with issues affecting the world.
